My story

I grew up in St Ives in Cornwall. Inspiration for my craft is drawn from my home town, its network of intimate cottage streets nestled against the pretty harbour, golden sand beaches and turquoise sea.

In my late teens I moved away to university studying art and education at a seaside town in Devon. Returning to St Ives Bay with my young family, for the last 25 years I've dedicated myself to supporting children's creativity, teaching at a community primary school, and running the props department at the famous St Ives kid's charity theatre.

I've always lived by the sea. The coast forms the backdrop to my life. Growing, learning and raising my children. Spending time working and relaxing with the sights and smells, the ever changing scenes. The salty air and seaweed. The sound of waves and gulls, and with the ebb and flow of the tide revealing an endless supply of material which I scour to create my pieces for your pleasure and enjoyment, reflecting the wealth of the Cornish environment.

My work

My little wooden houses are perfect for lovers of recycled art. All the wood that I use has been reclaimed or found on the beaches where I live.

Each little scene is handcrafted by myself at my tiny home studio in West Cornwall and each scene is completely unique, making them a wonderful gift for many occasions - new home, birthdays, wedding or simply as a little treat to yourself!

When I have completed a set of houses I like to give the piece an individual name that suits its character.
